FBI arrests 9 Nigerians for $3.5m wire fraud in the US Nine Nigerians have been arrested in the United States of America over allegations of fraud. Geoffrey Berman, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and James Spero, Special Agent in Charge of the Tampa, Florida, Field Office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), announced this in a statement. The suspects were arrested for allegedly defrauding businesses and individuals of more than $3.5 million through business email compromises, a Russian oil scam, and a romance scam. Those arrested were identified as Oluwaseun Adelekan, Olalekan Daramola, Solomon Aburekhanlen, Gbenga Oyeneyin, Abiola Olajumoke, Temitope Omotayo, Bryan Eadie, Albert Lucas, and Ademola Adebogun. “As alleged, these defendants deployed three different email schemes to defraud their victims,” Berman was quoted as saying in the statement. Nigerian lady gives birth on her wedding day A Nigerian woman has given birth to a baby on the same day that she was getting married to her husband. The story was told by one Cynthia Chidimma Ezike on her Facebook page. According to Cynthia, the woman who gave birth is her brother’s wife. Sharing a photo of the newborn baby, Cynthia revealed that her brother’s wife gave birth to the child on their wedding day. However, she did not say if the child delivery was before or after the wedding ceremony. She wrote: “Glory be to God Almighty for this wonderful for dis wonderful miracle, my brother’s wife gave birth on her wedding day d same day was my birthday, father, may your name be praised ijn. Government Warns Lagos Residents Of Poisonous ‘Ponmo’ Sold In Markets The Lagos State Government has alerted residents of the state to the circulation of “poisonous ponmo” in some markets in the state. A statement by Adeola Salako, director of public affairs, Lagos ministry of health, said three persons involved in the sale of the “poisonous ponmo” in Ojo and Iba local government areas of the state have been arrested. Talented singer and songwriter, Teniola Apata, aka Teni Entertainer, has taken to her Instagram page to reply a follower who called her fat.  The follower identified as John Peters, told the self acclaimed sugar mummy of Lagos, that she’s too fat and needs to cut down on some weight to avoid looking older than her age. In a video trending online, members of a white garment church are seen dancing down the aisle while a minister sang “Gbese for Jesus.” All the members were doing the Zanku dance and so was the man of God who was standing on the pulpit. The video has led to a debate online. While some say there’s no big deal in it, others have said it is wrong to do a secular dance in church and to turn the lyrics of a secular song into a Christian song by adding “Jesus” to it.
